Namaz Vakti (iOS) · Last updated: October 25, 2026

This policy explains how the Namaz Vakti iOS app, its widgets and its Apple Watch app, developed by Enes Şahin, handle data.

Summary

  • No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.
  • Prayer times and the qibla direction are calculated on your device. Your coordinates are never sent to our server.
  • Prayer tracking, dhikr counts, favourites and settings stay on your device only.
  • The only feature that sends data to our server is Live Activity, described below. It is off by default, only turns on if you choose it, and turning it off deletes that data.

On-device data

With your permission, the app uses your location while in use to calculate prayer times and the qibla direction. The last known location is stored in a shared on-device App Group so the widgets can show the same times. Place names and city search are provided by Apple’s MapKit services, subject to Apple’s privacy policy. Notifications and prayer-time alarms (Apple AlarmKit) are scheduled locally. The Apple Watch app calculates prayer times on the watch; your iPhone sends it your coordinates, place name and calculation method directly over Apple’s WatchConnectivity, between your own devices only, never to our server.

Live Activity

While Live Activity is on, the app uploads to our server (hosted on Supabase): a random per-install identifier not linked to you, Apple push tokens for the app and the activity, the place name shown on the Lock Screen (for example “Kadıköy, Istanbul”), the next 7 days of prayer names and times, and technical fields (APNs environment, update timestamps). This is used only to start, update and end the Live Activity through Apple Push Notification service. No name, email, account, device model, advertising ID or coordinates are sent.

Live Activity is off by default. The last page of the first-launch introduction explains what is sent and asks you to choose “On” or “Off” yourself; you cannot continue without choosing. If you choose “Off”, nothing is sent. You can change this later in Settings.

The record is deleted immediately when you turn Live Activity off, and automatically when the uploaded schedule runs out or the app has not been opened for 8 days.

Downloaded content

Quiz questions and the word list are downloaded from public, read-only tables. These requests carry no personal data. Our hosting provider may keep short-lived server logs including IP addresses for security and debugging; we do not use them to identify or track users.

Third parties

Supabase (hosting) and Apple (APNs, MapKit, location services, WatchConnectivity). We do not sell data, show ads, or track you across apps and websites.

Your rights

You can delete your only server-side record by turning Live Activity off, remove all on-device data by deleting the app, and revoke location or notification permissions in iOS Settings at any time. The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
